I came here for breakfast the other day with my boyfriend. It's a shame this place isn't in a better location because it is a severely underrated restaurant in Lee's Summit. We were seated right away upon arrival. I wish I had more to say about this place, but we were in and out SO fast, that we literally could not critique much of the process, haha. The total time it took from walking in, to ordering, eating and paying the bill was 30 minutes. The food was great for the price and taste. My boyfriend ordered a full stack (4 pancakes) of chocolate chip pancakes. The cost was about $5.75. **NOTE** THE PANCAKES ARE HUGE and most people can't really eat more than 1.5-2. They literally are the size of the large plate. I ordered the Aloha Awakea Omelette. The cmelette is made with ham, pineapple, cheese and shredded coconut on top. It comes with a side of toast and fresh fruit, or with breakfast potatoes. I ordered the fruit and whole grain bread. The omelette was fantastic - not too much coconut shredded over the eggs so the taste blended quite nicely. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 was because the hot chocolate that I ordered before my meal wasn't very "hot/warm" at all. I seem to have difficulty finding a breakfast place that does in MO. Other than that, the service was great.

Amazing food at an amazing price! I heard about this hidden jem on Yelp of course :) We came on a Saturday around 8 ish. We were seated right away! It started to get busy around 9 o'clock. Anyways, let's talk about the food. I tried the Egg Benedict and mom built her own omelette both dishes were full of flavor, great portions and again, reasonably priced! Our server was a sweetheart and made sure we were taken care of :)

I love quaint little hideaway places - especially for breakfast. As a solo, I tend to sit at the bar, which here is a 5 seat bar . I ordered a Cajun crepe - Andouille sausage ! Tasty, not spicy but a little bland for my taste. Now, as far as reading a paper etc, I'm a WiFi guy - and there is NO public WiFi here (: Open, noisy place with many new servers - I think it's a good place for food but I don't care for the atmosphere or service. If you're in the area - try it- I may be jaded to the urban vibe !

Heather took excellent care of us, and she suggested a pumpkin latte which was lovely. The $4 short stack of blueberry pancakes was almost as big as the Griddle's in LA- which are massive. (Almost the size of the plate!) they were fluffy and light, and best of all The Midwestern blueberries are uber sweet, huge and plentiful. Equally impressive is the berry compote. The crab and andouille sausage Benedict $8.95 with side of seasoned potatoes was also eggcellent. (I know, I know...I couldn't resist. I am awash in happy post breaky bliss.) We arrived at 945am on a Sunday. Got a seat right away, just before they got busy, but we're cold as we were near the front door. And it does get loud, but doesn't detract from the yummy food and great service- the severs had good teamwork (clearing played, ran our bill, etc.)

Excellent wait staff and an light/airy location to have brunch. It did not take long to get our meal either. Reasonable and delicious. I would recommend others support local business as well.

Been there twice. First time was me and wifey. Food was good 5 stars. Decided to take our kids this time. My son did not like the chocolate pancakes and management wouldn't switch for something else. So beware if you don't like the food you cannot return for something else. Kids are tough to satisfy , but this is the only place you cannot return food If you aren't satisfied. So I paid for an order of waffles for my son. We will not be returning here just because the customer satisfaction really put a sour taste in my mouth.

Ate there for the first time last week with the hubby for lunch. I had the tenderloin with fries. He had the veggie burger with Apple slaw. All was yummy and delicious.... the fries were just okay. The tenderloin was cookbook good on a buttered bun that it tasted very naughty for my health. Some how it did not make me feel fat and overly full afterwards! No indigestion problems and I actually felt pretty good. In fact I totally craved it again the next day.... and the next LOL. Veggie burger is very soft but obviously home made. My husband loved it but said next time he's going to order without the bun. Service was perfect, not overly doting and not totally dismissive. Everyone was really friendly. Our waitress warned us about the veggie burger which was nice.Definitely going there again!

We like Ginger Sue's and regularly frequent this establishment. I typically order their omelettes which are tasty and a decent portion. I don't love that some of the fruit in the fruit cup is obviously frozen. I also feel the food quality could be better. With that being said...there is hardly ever a wait and the service is great.

I was looking for a new place for breakfast in Lees Summit, and Ginger Sue's is great. The noise level wasn't as bad as some of the previous reviews have reported, but the decor is a little lacking. Looks very plain, especially for a place with such a great name. I was surprised when the waitress said they've been there for two years, because it looks like they just moved in. Anyway, enough about the silly decor. The FOOD. The breakfast was amazing. One of the best pancakes I've ever had. They are also HUGE, so watch out for that when deciding how many to order. Our entire party enjoyed their breakfast, and most of us had leftovers to bring home. Very generous portion sizes. Highly recommend for breakfast in Lees Summit.

We decided to try Ginger Sue's after reading the reviews on Yelp and we weren't really a fan. Food was just ok, with the exception of the pancakes, I would def get those again. You did get a lot of food for a good price. Service was pretty good.

Great breakfast / brunch spot. I had the crab and sausage Benedict and it was one of the best I've ever had! Prices are extremely reasonable too!

In a word, tasty! I met a friend here for breakfast on a Saturday, and, if this day was any indication, Ginger Sue's has definitely met a need amongst the soccer families of Lee's Summit! There was a big crowd this day, but I was seated promptly and the coffee was readily at hand. I had the Southwest Scramble Skillet, which was delicious. My friend had the West Coast omelette, and loved it as well. She did have to ask for the biscuit that was supposed to accompany her omelette, which was odd because there was a giant scoop of butter of her plate that would have served no other purpose. The dining room was brightly painted from the previous Mexican restaurant tenant, but not a lot else has been done to decorate. The service was good, other than the missing biscuit, but even it was delivered quickly. I'm happy to have this delicious breakfast option so close to home!

I love that place. It has interesting different ideas found breakfast. For a mother of a football player it's nice to find s place that can fill him (and his friends) up on the first serving, Ginger Sues pancakes can. You rock - we will be back.

Have you ever been to a restaurant and said "I want what he is having"? You will say that about the potatoes because they taste just as good as they look and smell. I got something called a breakfast mash the last time I was there that had eggs, potatoes, peppers, and sausage... Delicious! Their pancakes are excellent as well, and HUGE! I ordered 2 because the price seemed too cheap for large ones and I was overwhelmed. I had their cobb salad during lunch on one visit and it was equally tasty. Only 2 minor gripes about the place. 1. I did not care for the peppered bacon, so on my next visit I asked for plain. The peppered bacon seemed like it was cooked fresh, while the plain was obviously precooked or a lesser quality of bacon (smaller, more rubbery). 2. The quality of coffee is less than you would expect for a place with a $3000+ espresso machine. I ordered a latte on my first visit that was sub par. I also tried some regular coffee that was extremely weak. I have made better espresso shots at home with my old Giggia Classic, a $20 burr grinder and coffee from Big Lots.

One of my favorite go-to's. Love the service, love the food! It's in kind of an odd location, and parking is kind of a problem, but it is worth it for sure!

typically would rather make my own breakfast than go out. Ginger Sue's is one of the best breakfast locations in the city. Most of what you will eat is obviously house made. Their breakfast potatoes are delicious, and I love their bacon (I believe seasoned with brown sugar and pepper.) My only complaint is that it is a little pricey, as a breakfast for my wife, one-year-old son, and I is around $30. Still well worth the price.

The food is good, there is no getting around that. So the next complaints are minor but keep it from 5 stars. With a name like Ginger Sue's I was expecting muffins, cinnamon rolls, and other breakfast baked goods, but there were not anything (unless you counts pancakes, waffles, and french toast, but I don't). They eggs were really good, so again no complaints about what was on the menu. Also it is very noisy. It is one big open room with no sound dampening. So everything echoed and it was hard to hear the people at my own table. Speaking of it being a big open room, there is no decor. Just tan walls, blank tables, and wooden chairs, it could use some spurring up. Again, with a name like Ginger Sue's I was sort of expecting maybe a rustic or country look. But nothing, just chairs and tables. The wait staff was polite and quick, they kept my coffee full. No complaints about the service outside of I couldn't tell who worked there because there was no uniform. I didn't notice anyone inappropriately dressed, but coupled with the lack of decor and no dress code, it seems lacking. Also I went on Mother's Day, and there was a 20 minute wait, which was fine. I kind of expect that sort of wait for a Mother's Day breakfast. But when we got a table I notice there were a lot of empty tables which suggested they were understaffed for Mother's Day. And I can't help but think there wouldn't have been any wait if they were fully staffed. And I did over hear other customers complaining about that. At the end of the day, I would go back and would recommend it for someone looking for something new for breakfast.

This place was great! I ate there last weekend and had their Banana Peanut Butter Pancakes. They were perfect. The pancakes are fluffy and light, but very large so you can order the half stack and be full! The menu is not very large, but everything that we ordered from the menu was awesome and their seasoning used on the potatoes and bacon was spectacular and made you want to keep eating! We will be going back and trying more of their special pancakes and other items!

Blueberry pancakes were good, blueberry compote was a bit on the sweet sides. Order came back incorrect, but was immediately recreated. However, the new order was incorrect also. Management did comp the meal though, and what I did get was tasty.

I tried the Eggs Benedict, B&G with a side order of bacon as a to go order. Everything was very good and they kept the gravy separate from the biscuit and the hollandaise sauce separate from the egg/ham/muffin as requested. All were very good and my Aunt (who hadn't been eating) actually ate because it was so good. I am very glad I wasn't eating inside though. It was so very noisy and loud from just regular noise. By the time you add some small kids to the mix ....wow.... it wouldn't have been an enjoyable meal for me at all. The food, however, was quite good.

  • Keith M.

Went there on a Sat almost noon. It was REALLY LOUD in there. Could barely here the person I was with right across the table. Like my head was starting to hurt loud. I've never been in a restaurant so friggin loud. It's probably cause there's nothing on the walls, no curtains, nothing. Just cheap chairs and tables. This place is bare bones. Had an omelette and French roast. Decided to pass on the $5 smoothie and just went with water. The food was ok, but the omelette was kinda skimpy. I wasn't impressed. There's better choices for breakfast. I hate to say it but IHop is better. You get more for your hard earned money. And more choices too. The Big Biscuit is also really good. If you decide to go, take aspirin. Your gonna need it with all the noise.

A really small place tucked into the back of a strip shopping center. We actually sat at the coffee bar so that we could eat right away and get back on the road home. The food was really well seasoned and plentiful. My only complaint was the bacon. While it was thick cut and oven baked, it was slathered with a maple pepper glaze that was so overwhelming that I could not eat it and my hubby even declined. They should be more specific on the menu about the flavor other than "house seasoned". Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. I do recommend trying it, but I prefer Big Biscuit.

Woke up on a Saturday wanting to try a new breakfast spot and not travel too far away from home. Thanks to Yelp, I found Ginger Sue's. I used to visit Pita Pit in this shopping center, but it has since closed. I never noticed Ginger Sue's. The place was packed. There was a short wait, probably about 20 mins. If you have a party larger than 2, you'll probably have to wait a little longer because we got a seat before some parties that were there before us. Whenever there's a wait I always look at the other restaurant goers to see if they're enjoying their food. Everyone was looking mighty happy. Once we got a table, I understood why. Our server was really nice and attentive. From my seat I could see into the kitchen, it appeared clean and efficient. My favorite was the maple bacon, it was so tasty. I also ordered french toast, which was two long slices of french bread with warm maple syrup. Everything was delicious. I will definitely return.

Ok so, we have been 3 times each time was really good. Service a is winner. Owners, you really need to put something on the walls. The only down side is, it is really loud. Can you stop the crying kids? and your steam wand on the espresso machine is caked with milk. Therefor no espresso order. Still we will be back, great food. Our now go to for local breakfast and lunch. A yes.

My first visit and I am already a fan. We started out for Bob Evans, which we enjoy on occasion. They however seemed incredibly busy with a long wait, so we decided to check out Yelp for some other options. I suggested Waffle house, but Tony R. really wanted some French Toast, so he looked for other options. Ginger Sue's was the name he called, and off we went! There was a crowd of folks waiting at Ginger Sues, however the wait was only 15 minutes. Sure enough in just about 15 minutes the server ushered us to our seat. The menu is straightforward with all of the things you expect from a breakfast spot. We were seated near the kitchen window, and I would like to mention that their efficiency was refreshing. We were greeted by a very delightful waitress, who had a great personality. She answered our questions, and kept our coffee cups full. While all of the standards were present on the menu, there was nothing standard about this food. I had a standard breakfast, the Classic I believe. 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, and biscuit. Tony R. Ordered the Classic also with bacon, and an order of french toast. I will start with the french toast...I have never seen it done quite like this, it was a beautiful braided sourdough type bread, delicious! The bacon seemed to be coated by a brush in some type of syrup that gave it an excellent sweet and savory flavor. Everything was delicious, but those two were my favorites. We will definitely be back. Great to have another option in the area for breakfast!

I ate here last Wednesday with my husband. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It is definitely going to be our go to fantastic breakfast spot. A-maz-ing! I had a special mushroom, spinach, and goat cheese crepe with seasoned potatoes. Honey had the bacon ham cheese omelet. His biscuit was light and fluffy. The bacon is awesome seasoned with rosemary and pepper. You should really give this place a shot. Wonderful service and the restrooms were clean.

One of the best places for breakfast, brunch and lunch in eastern Jackson county. Everything is fresh prepared. Pancakes are huge and delicious. Bacon is phenomenal. Egg dishes are creative and exceptionally crafted. Sandwiches and lunch specialties are wonderfully filling. The entire staff is friendly and capable. I highly recommend this place to all.

Tried this brunch place and really enjoyed it. Everything is made from scratch and it shows. I ordered eggs benedict (it's my favorite breakfast meal so I've had it from many, many places), my husband ordered the gravy covered scramble, and then we ordered a blueberry pancake to split. Our waitress, Karen, was very nice and efficient. Even though the place was packed, our order came out quickly. I am not a "pancake person", but when they sat that blueberry beauty out with a side of berry compote, I could not keep my greedy little hands off of it. It was literally the best pancake I have ever had in my entire life, and my husband had to pour a gross amount of syrup over it to get me to stop eating it and relinquish his half... Or I wouldn't have stopped. I wasn't super stoked about the eggs benedict, but like I said, I've had it more times and from more places than I can count. It's obviously not their specialty, and I think most eggs benedict lovers would agree. However, I'm totally not even bothered because that pancake! Blueberry pancakes + berry compote + me = true love forever!!

Breakfast was very tasty. The pumpkin pancakes were just right and not overly sweet. Kate our server was amazing. It is still TOO LOUD. A little noise dampening and I would become a regular. I'll be back. Hope Kate is our server next time too!

Stopped in for breakfast/brunch today. My wife had the Crab Eggs Benedict and they were quite tasty. I had the "special": Patty Melt w/ FF. The sandwich was good, but certainly wasn't memorable, as the patty was significantly smaller than the bread and really could have used more thousand island dressing. Service was good and they were certainly busy.

The Lee's Summit Ginger Sue's has the same simple menu as Liberty and the food was just as tasty as the food up North. I enjoy their seasoned potatoes immensly and their applewood bacon is scrumptious. The Lee's Summit location lacks warmth. There is NO art of any kind on any of the walls. No decorations in corners...just table and chairs. Such a change from the hominess of the Libery restaurant. The waitress the morning we visited was competent but not overly friendly. We were very surprised they had been in that location for over a year. It had the feel of a just opened store.

With an unexpected party of 14 adults and 3 kids this place was great!!! It was a packed house, but we did not have to wait too terribly long for our seats. We had a very attentive server, Natasha, who went above and beyond. The Denver omelette was good-- not as much cheese as i would have preferred, but it was prepared very well. The potatoes were the star of the plate and the homemade biscuit was a nice addition, plus very reasonable prices.

I am not sure how a breakfast place managed to sneak in under my radar in Lee's Summit, but I'm sure glad I discovered it. Going out to breakfast/brunch doesn't really fit my workdays, but I sure do love it on Saturdays. If it's near my house, more's the better. Given my limited exposure to anything north of the river, Ginger Sue's was a new one on me, despite their having a Liberty location. Like so many dining establishments in Lee's Summit (outside of the downtown), this lies in one of the many strip malls in one of the many business parks lining the town's thoroughfares. But because it's nestled off Douglas, and not super visible from the main street (better signage coming soon, I'd imagine/hope), you wouldn't necessarily know it's there unless you read it on Yelp (Thanks, Carol A.!) The place is quite sunny and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side, and has really nice, blonde wood breakfast counter/coffee bar area, as well as tables and chairs and wall benches out in the main dining area. No artwork up yet, and it needs it, with lofted, industrial ceilings, and partial walls breaking up the space. The painting is nice and modern and clean, though. The food...I ordered a cafe au lait to start with, and it was very nicely done and served in a nice wide mug. BF wanted chocolate chip pancakes, which are portioned (like all their pancakes) to be bought as singles, double stack, or quadruple stack.. He was going to go for the four pancakes, but the server asked if we'd been there before, and when we said no, recommended the double stack, saying she'd bring more if he wanted more. Which was a good choice, as they were roughly the size of the hubcaps on the car we drove there. BF pronounced the pancakes great, with the chips stirred into the batter, not just tossed on top of plain pancakes, like they do 'em some places. I hemmed and hawed over the omelet choices, and went with the farmer's omelet, which featured fresh carrot shreds, tomato, mushroom, green onion, broccoli, parsley and goat cheese. So, so, so good. Eggtc. in the South Plaza has been my gold standard for omelets, but this was just as good and less than a mile from my front door. Omelets come with breakfast potatoes, and at Ginger Sue's, this means. skin-on, oven roasted, and tantalizingly flavored with I don't know what kind of seasoning, but they were delicious. Finally, a fluffy, pillow-like homemade buttermilk biscuit on the side with a pat of sweet cream butter on it...perfect I had this brunch at about 11 a.m., and wasn't hungry again until 7 that night (and that was even after playing two rounds of mini-golf in between brunch and dinner!) The service was super nice, the atmosphere nice and will get nicer once they get their decor more squared away, it's a little austere, now. Reasonably priced, and very, very clean (you can see into a bit of the prep area). Definitely a place that begs repeat visits.

I was a bit taken back when I walked in the place as it really had no decor to speak of & was really noisy. Luckily their food made up it. The bacon is seasoned in house & was some of the best bacon I've had. I had the salmon salad & it was a bit to much (which is better than being to small), but was very good. The salmon was cook perfectly! My friend had the quiche & it looked amazing with a great flakey crust. I would def go back.

Great News: Lee's Summit now has Ginger Sue's. Recently we traveled to Liberty, MO to try breakfast at Ginger Sue's. I reviewed it for Yelp and ended by saying it was my new favorite place for breakfast but it was too bad it was not nearer to where I live. Then I went to the website and found their Facebook page and low and behold: Ginger Sue's has opened a new location out in Lee's Summit just off of Douglas. I was so excited that we invited Sis to join us for breakfast today. When Dear Daughter #1 heard the news she invited herself to come along and also brought one of her daughters as well as her two grand-kids. The menu is exactly the same at both locations and the food was definitely the star attraction. I ordered a "weekly special" omelet featuring goat cheese, diced ham and mushrooms. The omelet came out light and fluffy and served with their great spiced breakfast potatoes and an excellent biscuit. Hubby had to do a rerun on the Cajun Crepe and DD#1 also had the crepe. Sis had a cheese omelet plate. My granddaughter had French Toast with a berry compote and it was so pretty, it looked so good, plus she reported it was delicious, that I just may have to order that next time. The great-grandbabies shared a pancake and kept the table entertained with their antics throughout the meal. Our server was very helpful and kept coffee cups and water glasses filled. This Ginger Sue's location is so new that there are not yet any pictures on the walls so it's not as cozy as the one just off the courthouse square up in Liberty. The space also suffers from the curse of being in a strip mall. But walls, floor and ceilings are freshly painted, carpeted, etc. and the attractive, light colored wood tables and chairs will make a cheerful background once the eventual theme is in place. Frankly, the quality of the food is such that it may take you a while to notice that the walls are unadorned. And once you start eating, you aren't likely to care about anything else but the good food. Ginger Sue's is a fine addition to this part of Lee's Summit and I think the locals are getting out the word because we didn't leave the restaurant until 11:30, and, by then, people were already beginning to come in and fill up the tables for lunch. I see frequent visits to Lee's Summit in my future.

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. The hostess was very friendly and seated us instantly. The waitress greeted us and took our drink order shortly. When she returned with the drinks, she asked if we had been there before and as we had not, she gave us some good information about their menu selections and specialties. We had great service and everything we ordered was delicious and prepared exactly as we ordered it. We had a great experience and will positively visit this restaurant again.

Brunch date with my husband. Saw the favorable reviews and decided to check it out. The wait was pretty reasonable and the host staff was friendly. The atmosphere was pretty meh. Tables, chairs, and one giant mural on one wall. Ordered biscuits and gravy and a gravy scramble. The serving of biscuits and gravy was generous so I slid two onto my husbands plate. First bite of my biscuits and gravy was surprising... Good flavor but lukewarm at best. I tried another bite from the middle thinking maybe the edges were cold but no joy... Again lukewarm at best. When the server finally showed up to check on us (and my husband was nearly done with his food) I asked if she could warm my food - she took the plate, brought it back seconds later and yes you guessed it was STILL lukewarm. I finished my wheat toast, left the biscuits and gravy, we paid and left. Server took my plate which was obviously still full with not even a hint of concern. The restaurant was packed and people waiting so the goal was move em in and move em out. Who cares about a satisfied customer, plenty more waiting?!

Given my frustrating experience I posted on their FB wall (see below, without any response from management), I felt pressed to supplement my 5 star review. As a regular I was really disappointed by my recent GS experience. Ordered a black bean burger from your menu that simply said what came on and with it. Yet, when the patty arrived it was nothing but a raw bean dip mixture. Having not tasted anything, I returned it, where the manager said I still had to pay since it was "clearly" stated on the menu--otherwise GS wouldn't make any money. (And yeah, you're right. You wouldn't make money if you had to refund/swap food items, which is why you should "clearly" state them on your menu.) Since I'm not one to make a scene, my bf and I just paid and left. Anyway, as a result, your immaculate joint has been tainted. Then again, your lunch menu is pretty hit/miss, so maybe that's my fault. Again, really disappointed. That said, Yelpers: be careful what you order.

I really can't believe that anyone would complain about the food here. It is freshly made and delicious! The bacon is so unique with flavors of herbs and a salty-sweetness that you won't find anywhere else. The pancakes huge and fluffy. The potato chunks are really yummy. The servers are so friendly and professional. Yes, it may be a little loud but I go to a restaurant for the food and value.

I'm not impressed. The mocha was great. They put way to much seasoning on everything. They over seasoned the bacon. How can you mess up bacon? It needs no help to be awesome. If you don't like Oregano then don't come here. It on everything.

If you recall, I wrote a review back in January of this year. I had a sub-par experience, and since I had not heard from the restaurant, I figured I'd give it another shot. Well, here's how it went. First off, please, PLEASE get some type of drapes, shades, wall hangings or something! It is way too loud in this place. Now that that's off of my chest, let's get to the food, the reason you are probably reading this review. I ordered a Ginger's Special, and my wife ordered pancakes. The only special request that I had was that everything was to be well done/crispy. Nothing worse than eggs that run away from the fork, and it's not healthy to eat runny eggs anyway, ask a doctor. So, I asked for the eggs well done and the potatoes and bacon to be crispy. Extra Crispy. As a matter of fact, my exact statement was to make them as crispy as you can without burning them. The waitress' response: "You want them to be crispy?" Seems to me that you cannot misinterpret that statement from either of us. It took a long time for us to get our food. A long time. Like 20 minutes long time. Like I watched someone else, sit down with us, get their pancakes for 6, finish said pancakes, complain that the waitress forgot to bring them their side order of meats, and leave. All before we received our food. Now, I'd bet you would say that all the food was burnt. you'd be wrong. The bacon came out white, and could easily be tied into a know, and the potatoes were just like they always come out: soggy, and mushy, all be it, hot. I got the waitress' attention and told her about the bacon, and as usual, I was told that my bacon probably got sent to another table. I doubt anyone would send back the crispy bacon, for if nothing else, they have good bacon here...when it's cooked. So, they came out with a plate to take back my bacon. The server said "put your bacon on here, I don't want to touch it", which is a sure sign, that you are NOT getting new bacon my friends. Guess what, when it came back out...still not crispy, but now totally dripping with oil. No one came to check to see if it was better, and the server was too busy that I tried to be nice and not bother her again. Not her fault as it turns out, the ticket did say crispy bacon. Alas Ginger Sues, you have good pancakes...that's the only saving grace right now. My pregnant wife is most likely going to cause me to come back here, since it's too long of a drive for a south LS resident to go all the way to westport just for pancakes. Me...I guess I'll have to settle for soggy bacon and potatoes. On the off chance someone from the restaurant ACTUALLY reads this: I'd be happy to show your cooks how to make crispy potatoes and bacon. I've done it for over 20 years. I promise not to burn down the restaurant.

Food: Overall pretty good. Bacon was awesome. Potatoes were very tasty. Biscuit was good as was the gravy. Downside to the food was that I ordered my eggs over medium and they came out so undercooked even the whites were runny. Since the meal I ordered came with a biscuit but no gravy, I asked for gravy and had to order a "side" The "side" came out in a little bitty dish and there wasn't enough to cover the biscuit. Again, food was tasty but there were some issues. Service: Our server was a very nice young lady just not particularly attentive. In a breakfast place you should never have to wait for coffee or drink refills yet our cups and glasses were empty more often than not. Atmosphere: Its a breakfast place so I didn't expect much but I also didn't expect nothing in the way of decor. It is clean and well lit but there is nothing on the walls. NOTHING! Not a single thing. Big barren walls. Maybe they have plans for some decor but right now there is nothing. Conclusion: We will go again. I'd like for it to be my new favorite place. It just needs some fine tuning.

Always good food. Service is good too. When there's a meat and cheese quiche for the day I'm satisfied. The only complaint I would have is how noisy the place gets when it gets packed. Before 9:00am it isn't a problem, but late in the morning on a weekend morning and it seems like you can hear the conversation of a table across the room better than the people at your own table.

Fresh. Made from scratch. They serve excellent food. We've only been there once but are looking forward to going back soon so that we can try more items on the menu!

Discovered this place by chance and what a treat it has been! I tried them for lunch, and had the best salad I've ever had. Their dressing is homemade, their bacon is out of this world and the service was perfect. Later that week, I took the whole family for breakfast and they don't disappoint! The full stack of pancakes where each the size of the plate, so come hungry or take home lot's of leftovers, as we ended up doing. Ginger Sue's, I hope you stick around Lee's Summit for a VERY long time!

Was there for breakfast. Confused why they Didn't have everything listed that they had to eat, on the menu. But was asked if we wanted eggs after ordered even though it wasn't on the menu. Great pancakes. Eggs over cooked. Potataoes weren't great, wish they had hash browns. After we got our food, my son ordered toast and it took forever to get. When they finally brought it out they brought two orders. By then his eggs were cold but he ate them. Prices are pretty good and I would probably go back and try again. Great pancakes and want to try biscuits and gravy. My older son liked French toast.

I, like the previous reviewer, very much enjoyed our visit to Ginger Sue's. I did, however, have time to notice the sterile and undecorated environment. We went for lunch on our anniversary and was greeted by several staff members that hovered, as there was no crowd, leaving them with nothing to do. Our server was very friendly but nothing our of the ordinary. Because it was so empty, we could here some conversation from servers hanging out in the back kitchen area that didn't seem too appropriate... Within a few minutes, several other diners joined the room so the noise level rose and echoed in the empty space, where the music was barely audible. WELL, as the other reviewer predicted, that all seemed to disappear when the food arrived. I had the veggie wrap which was loaded with delicious, FRESH veggies and plenty of romaine lettuce (exactly what I was hoping for) and my husband had one of the Scambles (I forget which one). He enjoyed it very much and the eggs were very fluffy and light! I have never been able to find a crinkle cut fry that actually crisps up but they had no problem getting theirs to do so with the seasoning on it to boot. They also serve all lunch entrees with a free taste of apple slaw. I have never had something like this before so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was very good, but nothing special. Vinegar slaws are my preference and this was one of them so yum!!! Aside from the atmosphere, let the food speak for itself! I really enjoyed the menu and LOVED that it was on the fresh/light side! I feel this is a place where we can happily go, enjoy a very delicious and filling meal but not belly-bust our diets and have to be rolled out. Well done and I hope they make it in this location. maybe some advertising to get the word out would help?!?!

2nd try on Fathers Day. Pretty good food but even with my earplugs I could not enjoy it. The decibel level measured 98dB. Doubtful we will return. I eat out to enjoy my family. Not possible at Ginger Sue's.
